ClientReferrals has been proud to support, promote, and provide services to the Antigua & Barbuda Citizenship by Investment Programme since its inception in 2013, giving us the opportunity to watch it develop over more than a decade and to work alongside many of the people and institutions involved in that journey.

What has always stood out to us is that the Antigua & Barbuda story goes well beyond citizenship itself. The programme has become a channel through which international investment has supported national priorities, education, housing, hospitality, and the creative industries. That wider impact is an important part of why we have continued to believe in the programme and in the direction Antigua & Barbuda has taken with it.

More Than a Decade of Partnership

Over that time, we have worked alongside the Government, the Citizenship by Investment Unit, and our partners to promote the programme internationally and connect qualified investors with Antigua & Barbuda.

But a long relationship matters only if there is substance behind it. For us, that substance has always been visible in what the programme has helped make possible within the country. Antigua & Barbuda has consistently shown that citizenship by investment can serve a broader national purpose when investment is connected to real priorities and long-term development.

That philosophy is also consistent with what we have seen in our wider work in Antigua & Barbuda. Whether through investment, tourism, hospitality, education, or the creative economy, the country has repeatedly shown a willingness to turn international interest into something that creates value locally. I’ve described that quality before as a combination of accessible institutions, capable people, and a genuine willingness to make ambitious projects happen.

Where Citizenship by Investment Has Created Impact

ClientReferrals has helped raise hundreds of millions of dollars via the Antigua & Barbuda programme. Those funds have supported the National Development Fund, the University of the West Indies, hospitality and housing construction projects, and the film & tv  industry.

These are very different areas, but together they show the breadth of what investment can support. The National Development Fund provides resources for national priorities. Investment in the University of the West Indies contributes to education and opportunity. Hospitality and housing projects support two sectors that have direct importance for the country’s economy and communities. The film & tv , meanwhile, open another avenue for economic activity, skills development, and international exposure.

That last point is especially relevant to me. Antigua & Barbuda has already demonstrated that the creative economy can become part of its wider development story. Through my experience producing Dr. Mason Miller in the country, I saw firsthand not only the institutional support behind the project, but also the enthusiasm, professionalism, and capability of the local people who worked alongside the international production team.

The same principle applies to citizenship by investment: the real significance of capital is what remains after the investment has been made.

Credibility, Integrity and Sustainability

This is why we have always spoken about Antigua & Barbuda’s programme in terms of credibility, integrity, and sustainability.

Those words only mean something when they can be seen in practice. A credible programme has to maintain confidence among investors, professional advisers, government institutions, and international stakeholders. Integrity has to be reflected in the way a programme is managed. Sustainability means ensuring that the programme continues to create value for Antigua & Barbuda while remaining strong enough to respond to a changing international environment.

The citizenship by investment industry has evolved considerably since 2013, and expectations today are very different from those of the programme’s early years. Stronger due diligence, greater scrutiny, and increased cooperation between governments are becoming part of the industry’s future. Programmes that understand that environment and continue strengthening their foundations will be better positioned for what comes next.

For us, Antigua & Barbuda has shown a willingness to take that responsibility seriously.

Why We Continue to Support Antigua & Barbuda

ClientReferrals is proud of its long relationship with Antigua & Barbuda and of the role we have played in promoting and supporting its Citizenship by Investment Programme since 2013.

But ultimately, our confidence in the programme comes from Antigua & Barbuda itself: from the way the country has used investment, from the institutions responsible for the programme, from the projects and sectors that have benefited, and from the people who continue turning that investment into something tangible.

That is what makes Antigua & Barbuda different.

The programme has a history, but more importantly, it has evidence of impact. It has supported national development while continuing to serve an international investor market, and it has done so with credibility, integrity, and sustainability as important guiding principles.

For ClientReferrals, those are the reasons we have stood behind Antigua & Barbuda from the beginning  and why we continue to do so today.
